that "Tana" is a Pharaonic Egyptian word that means "reviver of the dead."
In the "Mummy" flicks of the '30's and 40's, Boris Karloff and later Lon Chaney, Jr. (plus one more actor, I think) played the title roles in succeeding films. All were revived, then sustained by a brew made of tana leaves, sort of an Egyptian "Red Bull" that gave them the energy to carry on all sorts of mayhem while moving stiff-legged in apparent slow motion. (How they ever managed to catch up to a victim is beyond reason, but it was enough to scare the bejaysus out of this 10-year-old watching late-night TV in the late '50's...)
