The name Angela or Aingeala means is the same as angel or 'heavenly messenger', which can be mythological... but most people would prefer to say biblical I'm thinking... the angels being the biblical messengers to god...
Hermes was messenger to the gods and I believe Iris was also a messenger to gods, being the rainbow goddess... I'm sure there are others listed that were messengers as well...
