[Facts] Pronunciations
I've recently come across two female, Scandinavian names, Sunniva and Synnove. Both originate from the same source, and mean 'gift of the sun'. However, I'm not certain on the pronunciation of either.I'm also wondering about the pronunciation of the Greek name Demetria. Thanks in advance.

difficult to explain!!!Hi Carlina,Sunniva: --- SOON-ee-vah ("oo" short like in "book")
Synnöve: --- SIN-ö-veh (the "i" sounds like a mixture of i and a French u in "tu" or a German ü in "Tür" or a Swedish u in "tur", the "ö" sounds like an English u in "turtle", like a French eu in "beurre" or like a German ö in "Mörtel").The stress is on the first syllable.Regards, Satu
