I've always loved Kate, Katie, Katherine. Cannot understand the rise in popularity of the Isabels/Isabelles etc.
Kate sounds more like a nn so i'd go for Isabel
I prefer Isabel because Kate sounds really incomplete. If it was Katherine nn Kate that would be my pick.
Kate isn't a full name to me. Every Kate I know is short for Katherine and I dislike it as a full form. Besides, it's very dull.
Isabel is nicer, though I find that spelling boring, and prefer Isabelle :-)

I've just always loved the name Kate and I've never liked Isabel, I can't really determine why that is, I just do...

Kate, spelt Cait. No Katherine or Katrina or any full name! It is classy, timeless, and not trendy!

Kate without a full name because it is simple and classy.
Kate as a nn for Katherine
Sounds classier, less trendy

I prefer Isabel (spelt Isobel) because Kate seems too plain to me.
