[Opinions] Merry for a girl?
Wdyt of the name MERRY on a girl? My friend's sister just named her baby Merry Caroline. I love the male character Merry in Lord of the Rings, so it has some meaning to me. So wdyt? Does the combo Merry Anwen flow well? Does it go with Nerissa Faye? What about Cassandra Morgan? TIA

Well I can add this one to my list of ways in which Caroline is incorporated. But I just don't like Merry and with it's middle name sounds like an adjective, as if someone was describing this girl as Merry Caroline.I'm just hoping this poor girl's last name isn't Christmas.

Only if you use it as a nickname for Meredith or Meridan~*~*~*~

I love Merry (both the name and the LotR character)! Merry Anwen is very nice, better than Merry Caroline (which is not really bad too). Nerissa Faye is OK, Cassandra Morgan is somewhat strange, but not bad._________________________________________________

I only like Merry for a boy and then as a nn for Meredith and Meriwether (both for boys).

I don't care for Merry on either gender. I find it to be tacky and immature sounding. I guess I could see it as a nickname for Meredith (only for a girl).

I like Merry as a nickname more than as a full name, but I think it'd work. It sounds a bit too cutesy by itself--it has none of Mary's weight, even though I pronunce them the same way--to be taken seriously.Merry Anwen sounds like a description to me, rather than a name. I think it'd be a great nickname for Meredith (which I otherwise detest), Mercia, Merletta, Meriel / Mariel, Merridy (blame chazda), or Meryl. I like Merry just a little bit better for a boy--as a nickname, of course. (Since I really don't like Lord of the Rings, I wouldn't dare saddle a son with a full name so resonant with it.) On a boy, I like Merrick, Merit, Merle, and probably some others that I can't remember.Array

Merry Caroline is nice but both are nms, especially Caroline.
Merry Anwen is very pretty, so is Nerissa (Faye is nms). I love Cassandra but not Morgan (I like Morgana though).

I love the name Merry. There used to be one on BtN, but I haven't seen her for a while. This is the only way I like Merry spelt because it gives it a quirkiness that I love. Merry Anwen is OK, but to go with Nerissa Faye, chenge it to Anwen Merry. Nerissa Faye and Cassandra Morgan go well together, but leave out Merry Anwen / Anwen Merry.
