[Opinions] Constance
I am utterly in love with this name. I would not use it as a first name, though. Just a middle name. What do you think of:Helen Constance
Margaret Constance
Elinor Constance (Elinor is the only spelling I would use)or even
Paloma Constance - Constant Dove...

I think it's very pretty - I was friends with Constance when I was young and it's also a family name. Unfortunately, my husband isn't so keen on it so we won't use it if we ever have a girl.Sarah

Helen Constance - I think Helena Constance would flow better, but this one is all right.
Margaret Constance - like it a lot.
Elinor Constance - love it, my favorite one.
Paloma Constance - very cute, I like the meaning.

Why not use it as a first name? I think it's lovely.Helen Constance is great. Helena (helen + a) Constance flows a little easier, but it's a minor quibble.Margaret Constance is terrific. Elinor Constance has the best overall flow. (I also love Constanza.)

Oh no...Constanza sounds like George Costanza of Seinfeld fame. I just think of the episode where he remembers his junior high gym teach calling him "Can't-Stand-Ya"!)

Constanza is beautiful. If I used it as a first name, I would be afraid of her being nicknamed Connie. :-)Liza

I don't care for the name. I think of the words constant and constipation. I don't care for any of those names (I prefer the spelling Eleanor), but if I had to choose a combo, it'd be Elinor Constance.Edit: Spelling.

Hmm... I love the name Constance and all the suggested first names, but I'm not keen on the combos. None of them fit together, IMO. I personally think Constance would work best with a very short first name, or just some other longer name.

Constance is lovely as a middle name. Elinor Constance and Paloma Constance are very nice.Shannon

I love Constance and I think the first three combos are lovely but I don't like Paloma, it reminds me of pavlova and something else that I haven't quite put my finger on.

The "const" beginning actively reminds me of a word best avoided. Besides, I find it too dated, sorry. I do like the nn Connie.I dislike the names Helen and Margaret. They are plain and unattractive sounding to me, and have been overused so long that they're generic. I should be biased in favour of Elinor I know, but I do find the name dated and just not very pretty, though it's my favourite of the three. I also think Elinor Constance flows best.Don't get me wrong, I don't hate my name. I go through phases of quite liking it, sometimes. But I've never enjoyed introducing myself as Elinor, as I do find it old lady-ish. Other Eleanor's might feel differently._____________________________________________________________________"There are few more distressing sights than that

I think Constance is beautiful, too. Helen Constance works very well imo. I like the meaning of Paloma Constance, but I'm not totally sure I like the sound of Paloma.~*|Bethany|*~

It's a great name, but I don't like the nn Connie.

Hence why I'd only use it as a middle name.

I really like it, mostly because of its positive meaning. I'd never use it, since I've known both a Constance "Connie" and a plain old Connie, and neither of them have been the greatest people on Earth.I think Helen Constance is my favourite of those. It sounds so very down-to-earth and dignified, and with the nickname Nell, it's perfect.Array
