I don't like it, it's not my style. I did know this Indian guy once who was very cute and his name was Roland.

My cousin is Roland, nn Rhody (not actually sure of spelling). Not sure where that came from, but I prefer it to Rolly.

I love Roland! It's on my favourites list and I think it's very handsome. I don't have any bad associations with it, at all.

I like it, but can't stand the nn Rollie. If a man say, I love God, and hates his brother, he is a liar: for he that loves not his brother, whom he has seen, how can he love God, whom he has not seen?

I think of the Chanson de Roland, which makes it a beautiful name imo but for a boy of these days I would prefer Rowan or Roman. Note: Rowan *only* for a boy!!!

It's one of my faves. I fell in love with "The Song of Roland" and the wonderful names within in my teens. I would probably never use it as a first name, as the possibility of nn Rolly/Roly makes me cringe, but I think it makes an especially handsome middle name.

For some reason, I picture a chubby person ... I think it's the "roly-poly" connotations. And sadly I also picture Roland Rat. So not a very usable name today imo, sorry :-(_____________________________________________________________________"There are few more distressing sights than that

Ditto, it seems very weak in comparison to Roman.
