[Surname] Re: What does Collins mean?
I have been told that our name is an old Irish name that started about 900 years ago. I was shown the coat of arms, but cant recall exactly what it was. Somthing like two lions opposing each other. My great great grandfather had a claymore sword with it from before 1701 when my family came from Ireland in 1701. Im srry if I cant remember the exact origin, but I know that mine left because of religouse oppression and the potato famine.
