I like several names from Shakespeare, including Juliet, Lysander, Helena, Beatrice and Miranda. I agree that Hero and Paris are unusable. :b I don't care for Charmian at all, sorry. All I can think of is 'don't squeeze the Charmin'. lol

Why do you say that Hero is unusable? I personally have always loved that name ever since I was a little girl and read/watched Much Ado...
As to the other names I like Juliet and Helena, but that is about it. I am not terribly fond of Charmian...but I don't hate it.

I love: Lysander, Juliet and Helena.Beatrice is nice as well and Paris is, as far as I'm concerned, strictly a boys' name now and usable in only some circumstances.

I love, love, love Charmian!I pronounce it KAR-mee-an though, with a hard "k" sound like in Chloe and Charis. How are you saying it? If you pronounce it the same as I do, it might cause confusion, but imo people would quickly get used to the pronunciation.I like Lysander, but I don't think it's that usable except as a middle name ... The female form Lysandra is more usable imo. I love Helena and Beatrice. I also like Hero and Paris, and while I agree Hero isn't very usable, I think Paris is. In fact, it's quite in fashion at the moment for both sexes. (Boys named Paris are are the rage for new-money Londoners.)_____________________________________________________________________"There are few more distressing sights than that

I like Charmian, but I think in real life it would get confused with Charmaine too much. As much as I think think nn Charm would be cute, it's hardly professional, or seriously in any other sense. Therefore, I think Charmian is best as a character names.I like The Shakespeare names you've listed, except for Hero and Paris. Juliet I'm only iffy about. It's nice enough, but really nms.

Juliet - its okay, I still prefer Julia or Julianna
Lysander - nms
Helena - very pretty, although I love Eleanor or just Helen
Beatrice - love it, I think the nn Bea is so cute
Miranda - nms, but not terrible
Hero -unusable - ditto your comment
Paris -totally unusable! - sadly, Paris H. ruined it for girls & Paris L. ruined it for guys (although I still think the right guy could pull it off)I like
Regan - although I prefer Reaghan
Portia - although I don't think I could use it
Katharine - the nn Kate is adorable
& its too early of me to think of anything else
