WDYT of Marguerite? Does it sound too much like Margarita?

I love Marguerite! I has such a sophisticated, elegant appeal. No, it doesn't make me think of margaritas, although I like that name of a Hispanic girl. Margaret seems so dated and plain. Marguerite has the same feel to me as Grace, Emma, Victoria, Ava -all classic, pretty, old fashioned names.

It doesn't really make me automatically think of a margarita but I do think of a stuffy, old French woman. It might be ok as a mn, though. :b

Hmmm, I'm not sure how I feel about this name. I think (as with Margaret) I prefer the nns more than the name itself. Daisy & Maggie are both such cute names, but lack a certain substance that Marguerite gives them.

Marguerite is among my favorites for a girl. I think it sounds much better than Margaret. As for the Margarita connection, I think that Marguerite is distinct enough not to cause too much confusion.

Marguerite is very pretty- I like this form much more than Margaret.

I dislike Marguerite, sorry. The sound "reet" it not at all attractive to my ears, and English speakers would stress that syllable, which only draws more attention. The name just doesn't have a pleasant sound in my opinion.Margarita does remind me of the pizza. I like Margaretta though._____________________________________________________________________"There are few more distressing sights than that

Sometimes I think of margaritas (the drink, rather than the name) when I see/hear Marguerite, but sometimes I don't. At this instant, I didn't...until you mentioned it. Haha. I don't find the name visually appealing, I think because of the -guer- aspect of it. Even though I don't care for Margaret, I prefer it over Marguerite.Edit: Grammar.

I love Marguerite; it's my grandmother (Judith nn Judy)'s mn. It sounds less like Margarita than even Margaret does. That is to say, I doubt anyone would associate it with an alcoholic drink. Shannon

Well, it does sound a lot like Margarita as the names are related, but I like both names. I prefer both over the usual Margaret any day. I also like Margareta and the good thing about Margaret names is that there are a trillion nicknames to choose from.

I like it a lot, and associate more with daisies than alcoholic beverages. :-) Beautiful name.
