[Opinions] Meggan
One of my friends met a girl named Meggan (in her 20s), pronounced as May-gan. With that spelling of Meggan, I'd have pronounced it as MEG-gan, and not May-gen. And, the double gs make my eyes cross. Megan is my personal preference spelling.Edit: Grammar.

The double G's do look off. I prefer Megan too. But I swear growing up, the only girls that I knew with this name, all spelled it Meagan. It wasn't until I got really interested in names that I saw Megan was the more popular spelling, it surprised me.

I would definitely pronounce Meggan as MEG-an.My best friends name is Meegan - different spelling again but pronounced what I would call the usual way - ME-gan. I have known quite a few Megan/Meagan/Meegan's in my time and I have never come across anyone that pronounces it MAY-gan or MEG-an - does this happen more frequently in the USA or have I just not encountered any in Australia? In my experience the most popular way I have seen it spelt is Megan and pronounced ME-gan.

I know two Megans-they pronounce it Meg-an, which is how I always say the name, regardless of spelling. I also know a baby named Meghan who's parents pron. it May-gen. I really do not care for that pronounciation at all.I also know a Meagan pron. Mee-gan, believe it or not! That is my least favorite pronounciation. I like Meg-an best!!

I've known people named Megan, Meagan, Meghan, etc. (you name the spelling, I've seen it - LOL), and they've all pronounced it as May-gen. I've only known one girl who spelled her name as Megan and wanted her name pronounced as MEE-gahn (the overall pronunciation was overly exaggerated), but her parents intended the pronunciation May-gen. I prefer May-gen, and I live on the East Coast, USA.

I like Meghan, but not Megan. I only pronounce it MEG-an. "Dance like no one's watching."
