[Opinions] ruthless stereotyping.
From what I've seen of lower-middle-class Midwestern US white women, I'm not surprised that's what you think. They tend to assume the worst about people who are unlike themselves, so assuming Julie was knowledgeable about name etymology because it suits your prejudices is about what I might expect. Ruthless stereotyping, yes. Not true in all cases, sure. But that's what came into my mind.- mirfak, with overweening faith in your sense of humor
