I really like it and the odd thing is I hate plain names and Jane is just about as plain as they get.

I like it. It's classic, pretty, feminine and also has a bit of spunk to it.

I have a lukewarm feeling about this name . Jane (pr Jayne like my spelling) sounds too boring to me. However, I adore Jaynie or Janie. I wihs my parents had mnamed me Jaynie instead of Jane. Iperfer Jane aas a middle name. I love Emily Jayne and Emma Jayne as combos.

I like Jane, though I think it's a bit mundane for a first name, it sounds best as a MN, in my opinion.

I don't totally dislike it, and I would be glad to see a little girl named Jane as opposed to most overused and trendy names of today. But I still find it plain and a bit boring. :-/

I love it! I think it is very classy but also cute and spunky. I don't think plain Jane at all. I really don't here it that often anymore either. I think it is a great name.

It's a perfectly bright tidy name, and I like it a lot. I've got to say I'm sort of a fashion victim in that I myself would pass over it for something with less of a "generic girlname" stereotype, but on your kid, it's fabulous.

I was just thinking about this too! People always think plain Jane, but I always think of my Aunt Jane, who is probably the most energetic, enthusiastic little woman I've ever known.Anyway, I like Jane a lot, and I love the nickname Janie / Janey. I'd love to see it make a comeback, as well as Joan. :D

I think it has a dark elegance, like Violet, Alice and Emily.
The only reason people think plain is because it rhymes. It's underused

I think Jane is a pretty name, that many people discount for no reason other then it's popularity. It works well in the middle name spot.

I think it's a little boring, but is still elegant and classic.

I adore it! I think it's sweet, and underused. I know a girl named Daryl Jane, she goes by Jane only.

I'd go by Jane, too :-/

There is nothing plain about Jane to me, its a name with a long history and a lot of character behind it.

I really really like Jane. I would almost use it, but alas, its still rather plain. I prefer versions of it like Sian (SHAN) the welsh form of Jane.

I love Jane, Jan, Jayne, Janey... They're simple, sweet, and terribly underused.

I like it quite a bit. It's simple and sweet, feminine and spunky. It's underused.

I think its a bit too plain as a fn but its ok as a mn. :)

It has really grown on me over the past couple of years. I like it, but it isn't a name I would probably use.

I feel just plain Jane is boring but I like it as a middle name or as a first name if there is another name with it, like Mia Jane for example. The things I like about it is that it's strong and shows character when used as a middle name or paired with another name. I think it can actually make another name better and stronger. Like my Aunt Mary just got divorced and was considering changing her first name to Mary Jane. Alot of her friends already call her that. Though the other thing she was considering was changing her name to Mary Sunshine. Hehe. ^_^ Anyways that's how I feel about the name Jane.

I love Jane. I really do. I thought it was plain and boring until I met the most adorable little blonde girl a few months ago and I just think it's a great name. It's refreshing and it's simple - yet not boring. I prefer it spelled Jayne.

Jane's my mother's name. She doesn't like it, but I do. I think she just hears Plain Jane or Janie the Painie (her mother's nn for her as a child...yes, her mother was a nice person). Her full name is Jane Alexandra. With her confirmation name tacked on, it's Jane Alexandra Teresita. I love it!

I don't like it at all. It is totally dull, colorless and without personality. Just a blah, dishwater-type name. The expression "Plain Jane" is apt.

Complete ditto.
