[Facts] Hannelore
What would all the possible pronunciations of Hannelore be? I really like HANNAH-lohr, but is this legit? Thanks!

In Germany, it's pronounced "Hah-ne-loh-re", but rather old-fashioned.

It's Hah-ne-lore-a (I think it's German)

hahn-ah-LOHR-eh is the authentic pronunciation, but Hannah + lohr wouldn't be hideous outside of Germany.

You would have to take the "e" off the end to get HANNAH-lor. I have seen this before (in the US). Hannelore is a name smush anyway (Hanna/e + Eleonore] so I wouldn't feel too terrible about editing it a little.

I only know of HAN-neh-loh-reh.

Seriously, I never heard this prononciation before and Hannelore is quite a common name over here ... so I don't think HANNAH-lohr could be a legit prononciation =/

There is a popular bridal shop in Alexandria, VA called Hannelore's. Everyone pronounces it just the way you are suggesting, "Hanna-lore".

I've heard the AHNA-loreh pronounciaton. So I think it sounds more like Anna Laura than Hannah lore.
