Help[Opinions] Holden
Any thoughts on the name? I know it has a strong association with the character Holden Caulfield from the book The Catcher in the Rye but that doesn't bother me since it's one of my favorites. Do you have any mn suggestions for it? TIA!

I like it because of the JD Salinger association. Otherwise, it isnt really my style.

I like Holden. It's really the only -den name I like.
It's a good thing The Catcher in the Rye connection doesn't bother you because I think that's what most people associate the name with.

Holden is not a name I am too crazy about. The name reminds me of the character Max Holden from the daytime soap "One Life to Live" and that is the first thing that comes to mind when I hear it.

Cant stand it
Its a car brand here in Australia and I much prefer Fords (the rival car) so to me I dislike it, plus I didnt like catcher in the rye.

I'm a Holden fan, so would hate Ford. :P But I still wouldn't use Holden because of the association with the car brand. Plus I really only like it because of it's association with the car, otherwise the name sound and meaning just doesn't appeal to me. I wouldn't mind it on someone else's child though.

Exactly. Don't let him go to Australia - half the country would love him and half the country would hate him (except for those who really don't care - either way it just sounds too much like a car to me).
