[Opinions] Ruslan / Ruslana
Commenters on BtN said that this name is rather popular in Russia. I vastly prefer it to Aslan (which, according to commenters, is another form of the same thing).Do you think it's likely to be picked up by English speakers after some time? What do you think of it? What would you think of an American kid named one of these names?Personally I think it's beautiful (but I would be unlikely to use it because the pronunciation is rather foreign to my accent).- mirfak

I prefer Ruslana to Ruslan, but I think people could get used to it. There would probably be some prn issues at first, but it happens. I agree that they're better than Aslan.

I think Ruslana is very pretty, if I'm pronouncing it correctly (roos-LAH-nah?). Ruslan doesn't seem quite as nice to me.

I'm not a native English speaker, but I love Ruslan. I don't care much for Ruslana. I don't think I'd ever use it, because it's too close to the Dutch word for Russia for that, which is Rusland. I think every Dutch person would think of the country when seeing/hearing this name. I also like Aslan, but I agree Ruslan is better.
