I think Candace/Candice is very very pretty, so elegant and sophisticated but not flowery. You don't see it used much, especially as a full name, most of them end up Candy. I agree with you about Candy, it sounds like either a stripper, an ex-cheerleader who still hasn't gotten over her glory days, or a dog. lol My grandparents, I think, or maybe it was an aunt and uncle, had a three-legged dog named Candy when I was very little. I don't remember just how she came to be three-legged maybe a car accident, or a fight with a coyote. Shoot, now I'm going to be wondering about this all day and probably have to call somebody in Oklahoma to find out. :)
