[Opinions] Justice
Sharing another name I encountered.I recently joined a gym and one of the employees was discussing her five-month-old daughter. Justice Janet (prn ja-NAY). The middle name is after the mother's grandmother. She said that people were adverse to the name at first, but now they like it since the baby's born. *shrug*ETA: Not sure how the middle name is spelled, but the woman did prn it jaNAY and say something about Janet being her grandmother, but we were working out and I couldn't really hear her.

I find it irritating when a name that is traditionally pronounced one way gets pronounced another way "just because". Janet is not pronounced ja-NAY (unless you're French, I suppose :b). I know a woman named Joan and it's pronounced like Joanne. :-/ Just confusing, imo. That being said, Justice is a horrible name for a girl so the mn is just incidental after that.

Justice Janet....hmmm, interesting *******opens old Latin book for name meaning. Blows dust off of pages. Here it is.**********Justice Janet - means (in ancient Latin) "Gets butt kicked daily at school." Good choice.

I like it, it's cute. I think ja-NAY would be spelled Janae.

I like Justice, but for a boy.

I really don't like Justice because it sounds like just a word or something I would name a dog. It also seems like more of a boy name to me. And with people liking the name after the baby was born, that usually means that they like the baby and they associate the name with the baby. (I only like the name Kyla because of my neice being named that, so same kind of thing)

I know a little girl called Justice (Justice is her mother's maiden name). I think because I know someone with it, I have always found it really cute, but I would never use it. I prefer it on a girl to a boy though.

Names can grow on people. However, I personally wouldn't use Justice. Today alot of names have me thinking of movies I haven't seen in awhile LOL. This one makes me think of the 90's movie called "Poetic Justice" Starring Janet Jackson and she played a girl named Justice. Justice Janet made me think of that. When I see Janet I think of the jan-ette pronunciation. I never seen it pronounced JA-nay before. You learn something new every day.But it is definately not my style at all.

I thought that was a guy's name. Oh, well. I was teaching a class and there was this kid named Justus, and therefore I will never even consider liking that name again. :SJanet (ja-NAY) is interesting. I like it!
