Well my DH's grandma's name was Winifred nn Winnie and although she was a sweetheart she used to nag her DH alot and my father-in-law (her son) would call his DW Ruth "Winnie" when she nagged him and NOW my DH calls me "Winnie" when I nag him, so as you can probably imagine I don't care for Winifred or Winnie.

Not too old, but I think it's too masculine. It's not in my taste.

I don't think any name is "too old." I just find Winifred to be very ugly and unflattering. I also don't think it's feminine, probably because of the ending -fred.

I think Winifred may be on the cusp of coming back into fashion, perhaps in the next five years to a decade? I don't really like Winifred, but I like "Win".
