No, I haven't heard of an Alanis besides Alanis Morissette, and I think that's the only thing that puts me off it. Sound-wise it's adorable. A bit like 'Atlantis' :-)
To avoid association with her*, and just because it looks more symmetrical and sensible, I prefer Alannis.
*Not that I have anything against her - her music just isn't my style.
