[Opinions] Lew (pronounced "loo") as a nickname for Lauren?
Does it work? COULD it work? The character in my story is Lauren Addison, a fairly plain brunette from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, born in 1960 and growing up in the 1970s, who plays the guitar (acoustic) and sings. Oh yeah, and she's a HUGE Maple Leafs fan. Personally, I think the name gives her a "cute," playful, feminine touch, and for the better.Your thoughts? Thanks in advance.

I think it could, but I would spell it Lou. Another suggestion is Lo or Lo-Lo. I know someone named Lauren that is called that.

I prefer Lou because Lew is just one letter away from the word "lewd".

I like Lou better for a nn for Lauren and yes it does work. I think Lou works for many L names. I was sometimes called Lou and my name is Lisa.

Well I'm in England and I sometimes get called Lou as a nn. No one's ever called me 'toilet' instead!

Lew (pronounced "loo") as a nickname for Lauren?'Loo' is used for 'toilet' in Australia too.So no I would so now use it as a nn for Lauren. I've known Laurens nicknamed Loz / Lozza and Lolly. At least being called candy is better than being called toilet.
