Message: "Anthony" - Behind the Name

DH told me he really likes the name Anthony. I smiled and I guess it tossed him into thinking I really liked it, and now he is stuck on it.
The only problem is that my mom's ex's name is Anthony.
I don't want to spoil this name for him while he is so happy over it, but it has to change.
(I know it wouldn't fly well if we named the baby Gregory after his mom's ex.)

So, right now I'm trying to get his name off of Anthony.
He really likes "plain" names, which I am going to give in and except.
But, I like strange names, so I'm looking for an inbetween suggestion.

Looking at my own list, here are my "inbetween suggestions":

Gabriel, Henry, Joseph, Jude, Julian, Luther, Marcus, Milo, Sebastian, Simon, Tobias

Well I would break the news to him gently. I would use the Gregory scenario as an example so he can understand why you wouldn't want to use the name Anthony.

Here are some names that come to my mind when I think of the "Anthony" category that you or your husband might like or not :)

What about Anatole? Antonello? Antioch?

Or a variation on Anthony like Antoni, Antonije, Antonio, or just Tony/Toni?
