Javed and Shideh are the twins of an Iranian farming couple who both died when their car was blown up by a roadside bomb about two years ago. Ben and Lorelei have wanted to adopt for a long time and to be able to adopt twins was a great joy to them. Since the twins are eight-years-old they really had a big choice in which family they wanted to belong to and they chose us because we have so many children and they've always wanted brothers and sisters. It took a couple different meeting with the twins to help them decide weather they really wanted to live with us or not - and they finally chose us!
We gave them the choice of what they wanted to be called and they both told us that they wanted to be called by their middle names so we made their middle names their legal names and it just helped to give them a new identity in this new home.
Javed is very protective of his sister Shideh and always wants what she wants. She when Shideh became friends with Rory and Esme and started to cling to me, he released any boundaries he once had set up and settled in very well with Ash and has become Ben's helper with carpentry jobs. And both twins are really sweet and helpful with quints Gage, Poet, Sage, Fife & Promise.
We are all so happy to have Javed and Shideh with us and now can't imagine life without them! :)
