I really prefer the Dinah spelling and the DIE-na pronunciation and have recently been thinking that it's really pretty and not used often enough.
To me Dina is pronounced DEE-na and isn't that attractive, except as a nickname.

LOVE Dinah prn. DIE-nah. I think it's the snazziest thing ever. The other spelling and prn really don't appeal to me.Array

I know a few Dee-nahs. Most are in the ex-pat Middle-East community, though one is just standard -issue Canadian.
Also knew girls names Dee-Dee.Short, I suppose, for Darlene?Don't care for it much.

The Dede ("dee-dee") I knew was short for Deirdre ("DEER-dra").

I know two girls named Deirdre nn Dee, and one Deedee named Delilah.

I know 2 Dees and one DeeDee = Denetra, Delores and Dianne are their full names, respectively. I've only know one person who pronounced her name DEE-nah but it was spelled Deanna, which was confusing. :-/

I would pronounce Dina as "DEE-na," and Dinah as "DIE-nah." I prefer Dinah because it has a more nostalgic, old-time feeling.

I too like Dinah better; it does have a refreshing old-timey feel to it. She may be teased though..."Dinah won't you blow?" from the song. But I think most names have SOME sort of tease factor to them and this one is by far very minute.

Well, Dina is pronounced DEE-na, and I hate it.
Dinah is pronounced DIE-nah, and I love it. It's just cute, and underused, and like already said, old-timey but appropriate.
Plus, it was Alice's kitten in Alice in Wonderland.

Dina is ick, and Dinah rhymes with China and its all I can think of when I say Dinah out loud.

Dina = DEE-nah and I've never cared for it. Brings to mind Dino from the Flintstones, which may be why it brings to mind an "airheaded" kind of person. :bDinah = DYE-nah. Love this. The only drawback is that (at least in the U.S.) she'd constantly get sung to her "someone's in the kitchen with Dinah...". lol

i love it. i only like the pronounciation Dee-nah, spelled Dinah. Dinah was one of Joseph's brothers in the bible, and also the main character based on that story in a book called "The Red Tent", which is amazing.
