[Opinions] Zadekai
Some days ago I came up with Zadekai (boy). What do you think about it? I love it and maybe with the NN "Zade"? I hate Kai so not NN kai..

Sorry, I'm just not a fan of made up names in general. I'd rather see Zane, Kai, Malachi, or Mordecai.

It feels a bit contrived to me. If I met a Zadekai, I'd wonder why his parents didn't give him a similar, 'real' name, like Zedekiah. It's not that there's something really inherently wrong with Zadekai; it just feels like you're reinventing the wheel, like using Marai when Mariah's just as workable. Not the best example, mind, but that's what I'm feeling--an unnecessary retooling.Zade on its own is certainly workable, if trendy.Array

Thanks for your comments.
Here in Sweden, Zedekiah isn't popular at all so I don't think anyone would ask why the boy didn't get that name :)
I suppose the people here would wthink I was crazy "Hey! Whats wrong with Lucas and Isaac?" ;)

Why not just use Zaid or Zayd? Zadekai sounds like it could be an actual word in some other language, but it's disappointing to find out that it's made up.

I don't really like Zayd/Zaid and when I came up with Zadekai I just loved it!

Do you pronounce the E, (Zade-E-kai or just Zade-kai?) I like the first pronounciation and I think the name is ok. It doesn't look too made-up imo. But I think it would be better on a character than on a real person. It's nicer than many other made-up names though and Zade as a NN is cute.

I prn it Zade-E-Kai. I'm just fifteen so who knows, when (if!) I have a boy sometime, maybe Zadekai is really popular then. ;)
