[Opinions] Tabitha and Edith
Tabitha and Edith have really grown on me, would you be shocked to see them on a children born today? I think they are really cute, and would age well.
The only thing holding me back is, Tabitha is associated with cats and Edith people often think as an old woman name. What are your thoughts (because if anyone is going to be oppinionated on a name it's you lot) Thanks in advance :)

I love Tabitha - it's very pretty. Edith I don't care for. I think it could work, but I find it slighly old-fashioned and ugly.

I it is a little old fashioned, but still pretty. I would probably go with something other then Edith. But if you REALLY like it, I wouldn't stress over the cat lady thing, knowbody will notice.

As a Tabatha...I think it's perfectly fine. I'm only 22 and was named after my great aunt. I go by Tabbi or Tab.

TabithaJust so long as her surname isn't Cat (or something that sounds like it) and she goes by the nickname Tabby.I don't really like Edith. There's nothing at all wrong with it, but it just doesn't strike me as "I love this name!"

Well Edith is not my style. However, I love Tabitha. It is such a pretty name. I don't think of cats when I hear this. I never seen a cat named Tabitha. I know they exist obviously but I meant to say is it wouldn't stop me from using a name that I love. That goes for Edith as well. Just because it isn't my style, if I loved a name enough, that is enough for me to use it and not worry about what people tend to think.

Tabitha - The witch and cat associations are very strong but that wouldnt stop me using the name if I really liked it, its a nice enough name but not one of my favorites
Edith - I love this though prefer Editha

Tabitha- while I do think of Bewitched I don't think of cats unless you use the tabby cat nick name. I think it's lovely, and maybe your future daughter would be a cat lover and relish the assocation.Edith- most people do associate it with old women still. My boyfriend scratched it right off the list. It is very nice though and the nn Edie is just adorable. With Desperate Housewives, maybe the Edie nn will be thought of as sexy instead of old. Not sure if that's an association you'd like. I think a little girl in a few more years could pull it off.

Tabitha- I really dislike this name without knowing why. It's just something about the sound I can't stand.Edith- well, I do think of an old woman but I would love to see this on a little girl. It would be really cute!

I like both of them. I know two Tabithas actually one of them is 11 and the other is 5. They both have the nn Tabby which does make me think of cats, so if you can come up with a different nn then I think you can avoid the cat association. :-)Edith in my home country is quite popular, so I never think of old women when I see the name. I also think of Edith Bowman (Radio 1 dj) in the UK, I think she is pretty cool, so I would actually use the name for a kid these days.
