[Opinions] Allister?
I was watching the snooker on TV the other week and one of the younger players is Allister Carter, going by Ali. It's pronounced like in McAllister; I'm assuming it's simply another variant of Alastair.
Wdyt? I like it a lot.

Yuck. Go with the lovely Alasdair. It's too handsome to bastardize as Allister.

I like it too! It's close to Allison, which I love, but it's not as common.
Allister had always reminded me of a little Christmas dwarf. I think it's because I have a book from when I was younger about a Santa Claus and his little dwarf called Allister. I actually think this name sounds sort of cute.
Thanks

I like it but probably prefer the Alastair spelling.
I like Alastair and some other variants, but I'm not crazy about this spelling. It looks very trendy.
Really? I think that Alastair looks more trendy than Allister. But I do think that the name is one that would grow well from a baby to an adult. It reminds me of someone with very dark hair and glasses.
I agree that it would probably age well. It makes me think of either a 20-something nerd or a very successful 70-something businessman. Go figure. The likely reason that it looks trendy to me is that I've never seen the spelling before, so it looks made-up, whether it is or not.
