I personally like this name as it is my own, my name is Shelby Rebecca, and I always thought that it was a very nice name. I know other Shelby's they are Shelby Lynn and Shelby Kay. I can't say that I love either of those... but both of them like their name too. I really like Shelby Elaine...

I think Shelby sounds really sweet, pretty and innocent. I really like it.

Sibset I heard yesterday: Shelby, Cullen and Justus.
Shelby was a boy though. I don't think I like it for either gender, but Shelby Celeste is the best combo.

All the Shelbys I've known have been male. I don't really like the name either way, but I really really don't like it on a girl.

It sounds too much like a surname to me, as well as sounding more like a boy's name.

I grew up with a Shelby in school, and I can't say the name does anything for me.Michelle with a nickname Shelly is where i would go if that's what you are after.Good luck!

It is too cutesy, as if you were cutesifying Michelle into "chelle" and adding a "bee" sound on the end, and we have Shelby. I once liked the Dodge Daytona Shelby. I once had a dog named Shelby. Not a child's name IMO. >:-(

It's okay, I don't really feel too strongly about it. The problem with it is it sounds like "she'll be" as in "comin around the mountain when she comes." lol So you have to be carefu with middle and last names. My husband favored Shelby Lynne as a name for our daughter, inspired by the singer.
