[Opinions] June and Jane
Would you think it's odd to see June or Jane as a nn for Jennifer?
Do you like them? Which do you prefer?
+ I'm asking because I like both of them much better than Jen, which is my name, but they're not so far off as to be entirely ridiculous.

My deceased aunt's middle name was June, and my mom's Jane. I was named after my mom(spelled Jayne), but I go by Jaynie.
OK, I've abandoned the idea as being too out there. *sigh* -- Stupid real name.
Thanks for the input.

As a Jennifer, I don't think it makes sense. Definitely not something I'd want to try to do as far as a nn change.
My sister's name is Sara but goes by Sally and people don't even understand that.

I like them both tons. It seems kind of artificial to make either into a nick for Jennifer, but I guess it could happen. Actually, from what little I know of you I think either could fit you. June is more adventurous or even reckless seeming to me; Jane is more cerebral -- but that's just on paper. Once either name is on someone, I think they have lots of possibilities.
They're a bit too much of a stretch for me. Why not just get called J? Sounds the same as Jay, but it's just the first initial of your name instead.
Too far a stretch, I'm afraid. I'd go with Adelle, personally, though my favourite Jennifer nn is Jinx. :D

They are a bit of a stretch really. Jenny can be used as a nickname for Jane and has been for years past but I don't really see where June or Jane could be nicknames for Jennifer, their origins are so completely different. Now if you wanted to use Jena or even Veva as they are forms of Guinevere and therefore Jennifer, I think that would be fine. Jinny (by way of Jenny) would be fine as a nn. Or what about Effie, or Enna, or Enner? Fin or Finn would even be possible because of all the letters being there in Jennifer, but there aren't A or U in Jennifer at all. :(

I was actually thinking about you today, and about how perfectly Adelle suits you. Much more than June or Jane.
If you really dislike your name, why not go by Adelle? I know people who go by names completely unrelated to their first or middle name.

Random. :)
I don't know; I just feel like it's still sort of weird to go by something entirely unrelated and that I picked out myself.

True.
I had that problem as well, which is why I go by my middle name, and not Siri.

Unfortunately, Lynn isn't all that much better, so MN isn't really an option.
You could be Jenlyn :b j/k
Jane could work
too much of a stretch
It just doesn't make very much sense to me. It would be like using Mary as a nn for Margaret, or Ellen as a nn for Elizabeth.
I do like June, it's got a very 1940's feel to it, but is probably due for a bit of a revival. Jane has no appeal for me at all, just blah.

Very odd. I do like the name Jane by itself.
I actually like June better than Jane...less common imo.
I think it would be odd if you were known by Jen and then all of a sudden went by one of those, but if it was started at birth by your parents I dont see it as odd at all.
