[Opinions] Halana
We love Helana, and Helaina, but don't like the "hel" sound. We like it as a middle name. WDYT?

If you don't like the sound "hel" then you really don't like the name Helena do you? How about:
Laine
Elaine
Leni
Lana

I don't really recognize the "hel" sound. It's not my favorite name, but it's ok. You could change it to Alana or Lana if you don't want the "hel" sound.

I think the old spelling of simple Helena is best. The hel sound doesn't have anything at all to do with Hell, so it seems (no offense) a little foolish and fanatical to strip a name of it's meaning and culture because part of it doesn't translate so well into English.

thanks for the reply, and your opinion, I didn't actually mean that we didn't like it because of the English conotation, we just like the "ha" sound better than the "he" vowel sound, just sounds a little softer to us. It's actually a take off of a family name, my middle is Elena, and my grandmother is Helen, so I really have nothing against those names :O)

agreeand if it still bothers you, you could use Elena or even Alana, although IMO Helena is the best. All are good names, and good middle names.
