Help[Opinions] Charlotte.
It's my favorite girl name I think.
A lot of people on this board seem to think it's very trendy, at least in the US, which is where I live. My own definition of "trendy" is that it's been in the top 100 for more than a year, and has risen there quickly. According to the BtN charts, it hasn't been in the top 100 since the 40's, and has held pretty steadily since. I have met two people in my life named Charlotte; one is an art teacher in her fifties or so, and the other is the baby of a history teacher here. I can see by its rising popularity that it may become trendy in a few years, but right now I don't think it qualifies. So, what's your definition of trendiness, and how does Charlotte fit into it? Thanks :)

I don't necessarily agree with your definition of "trendy", because a lot of classic names are in the top 100, names that have stood the test of time. I think a better word for "trendy" in this instance might just be "popular", although some names fit the trendy and fast-rising label, like Neveah. I just consider that a made-up name.

I agree with your definition of trendy, also imo some made up or creative names fit this category too.
Charlotte is not trendy at all, maybe it is popular, but I has a "classic" feeling that prevents it from becoming trendy.

I like it a lot and think it's lovely, but it does seem very trendy (maybe popular would be a better term) to me, probably because I've heard it used mostly on young children and babies. It's also quite popular in the U.K. & Australia, which may account for the opinions of some BtNers.

I think Charlotte is trendy in a sweet sort of way. I love it!!

No, Charlotte does not fit "trendy".
Charlotte will be my first daugther's name I'm 99.9 % positive about that. I only met one Charlotte my entire life so far, she had to be in her 40's at least.
My definition of trendy is made up names, or names they are popular just because, also if I hear the name more then 4-5 times it's popular to me. I go by who I know, or what I hear rather then statistics, because everywhere is different then overall.
