I MUCH prefer Imogen, as Imogene 1) ends in the masculine -gene and 2) sounds like Emma Jean, and there are quite enough Emmas in the world already. IMHO.
I only know one person with this name and it's a little girl named after her great-grandmother, and it is pronounced (by the family) EYE-muh-jeen. She goes by Jean and Jeanie, as her great-grandmother went by Jean all the time (that spelling).
