[Opinions] More mispronunciations of my name! Wdyt?
Shayna is now...Shna-nee-na
Shun
Saw-duh
Shaw-duh
Say-duh
saw-rah
Say-na-rahI think Shna-nee-na is the most interesting one yet. Really. How hard is it to look at my name and say shay-na. It sounds exactly like it looks. You know what else bothers me? When I say my name like five times in a row and people still pronounce it wrong. Come on!Sorry for that rant. Wdyt of the mispronunciations, anyway. I actually quite like say-duh.-------------------------------------------------

I could figure it out right awayAnd I'm not even American or English. If it was a Swedish name, I would pronounce it as "Shie-nah" according to Swedish pronounciation rules, but according to English rules it must be "Shay-nah".Are people just being lazy? Or have they met too many complicated names and don't trust the most straightforward way anymore? Or are there more dyslectic people than we know?I think Shaynah is a beautiful name, btw.

I would prononce Shayna either shie-nah (the most natural to me) or shay-nah. My great grandmother was Miriam Shaindel (shine-dul), by the way :)

People pronounce my daughters name, Mattea, wrong sometimes. It is pronounced Ma-Tay-ah. It doesn't bother me so much when people see it and pronounce it Ma-Tee-ah, but when people pronounce it Ma-Thee-ah, May-Tee-ah or like Matty it anoys me.

You can imagine what I get with Eilis.
"...I have for the first time found what I can truly love--I have found you. You are my sympathy--my better self--my good angel--I am bound to you with a strong attachment. I think you good, gifted, lovely: a fervent, a solemn passion is conceived in my heart; it leans to you..."

EYE lish. I've played around with different pronunciations but this is what I've always been and it also appeals to me most, thank goodness. :-) It's been the easiest for other people as well.
