I've recently found out it's pronounced 'Dwayna' but I always said 'Dwahna' because it sounds better to me. Is that okay, do you think?

Yeah, I think it's okay. When I saw it I thought "Dwahna" for a second before realizing it's a feminine form of Duane. If you named a child that, though, she'd be correcting people her whole life.

I work with a girl named Dwana, and she pronounces it like DWAH-nah.
I don't think Duana or Dwana are "real" names, though.
