[Opinions] Dafydd
I watched a movie (The dark) and one of the the main charachters names was Dafydd, it really grew on me, though i've heard that its supposed to be pron. Da-vith but im pretty sure they were pronouncing it daff-id. What would be some nice names for possible siblings?

I like this name a lot, think it's nice alternative to David. (Because David's very common.) I'm fairly certain it's meant to be prn. DA-vith, though don't quote me on that. (My automatic pronounciation is da-VIT, which I know is just wrong.) Possible siblings? Like Sarai said, most Welsh names would probably compliment it. I think Ceridwen in particular goes with it well, but I'd look at the whole list and comb through.

I thought it was pronounced Daff-idd, too. I think this is just a UK thing but there's a show called Little Britain and there's a welsh guy in it named Daffyd who claims to be the "only gay in the village". The name Daffyd just reminds me of him and that's not a great association. The beginning part also reminds me of "Daffy Duck". I much prefer David, to be honest. I think that most Welsh names would make great sibling names for Daffyd eg. Carwyn, Aeron, Ceridwen, Ifan, Evan etc. For the list, you could try searching welsh names.

It has a nice sound, but honestly when I first saw it, I thought it was a Kre8tif way to spell David ! ):

I really like Dafydd (my brother is David, and we call him dah-VEED sometimes), but I can't think of any sibsets at the moment (just woke up...), so I will wait to see what everyone else thinks. :-)
