[Opinions] Aria
The given pronounciation on this site is AWR-ee-a or ER-ee-a.I don't know about the rest of the world, but here in Australia we say AH-ree-ah. We have music awards called ARIAs (Australian Recording Industry Awards [i think thats what it stands for]) and everybody ive ever heard says it AH-ree-ah.My question is - how do you say Aria?

AHR-ee-ah. But it makes me think of the word "area" nonetheless. Seems like a trying-too-hard name to me, too.

I've heard it pronounced both AH-ree-ah and AHR-ya. But usually the second pronounciation is paired with the "Arya" spellling.

AH-ree-ahER-ee-a always confuses me as well (well, ER in a pronunciation guide), I think it's meaning the AIR sound but in my accent ER and AIR are two different sounds.Accents and pronunciations are a funny thing :)

I think a lot of people would say AWR-ee-a and AH-ree-ah the same way. But there is a subtle difference, I guess. Arr-ee-ah versus Ah-ree-ah. I think I tend towards Arr-ee-ah.

AH-ree-ah and AW-ree-ah are exactly the same in my (western USA) accent (the A sound like the A in "father", though I do know what the AW sound is like in other accents). I say it AH-ree-ah, not what would be AW-ree-ah in Australia (though it's the same here). Did that make any sense?ER-ee-ah is strange to me.

I say it as Aria. I've been thinking about the combo Aria Charlotte, so now I really like it!

I always thought it (and the word) were pronounced Air-ee-uh.

Awr-ee-a and Ah-ree-ah are the same pronounciation as far as I can tell. Awr-ee-a sounds most like what I would say, just like the musical term. Awr ends up sounding just like the word "Are".

To me, in Awr-ee-a, Awr would sound like Saw or Paw.

In the pronounciation key for BtN it says many speakers pronounce Aw and Ah the smae, I guess I am one of those. The first time I looked at the prn. for Rose I was a bit confused, until I read the guide.
