I've never cared for most -arry names for boys at all (Perry, Barry, Larry, Terry...though I'm not sure why). This one particularly sounds very 1970s and a bit smarmy to me. :-/ Also being a nurse peri- is a term and a prefix I hear quite a bit (i.e. perimenopause, perinatal, perineal) and is even used as an abbreviation for perineal when doing "peri care"--which consists of cleaning a patient's genital area. :-\

It's very seventies to me too, but I can see the strong/romantic sides to it. I think it would be a great name in an old, romatic book, but not for a little boy today.
