Ok so, the Keanu question just had me thinking of another male name that has always seemed very feminine to me.WDYT of Isaiah, for a girl?

The fact that it "seems feminine" to you does not erase its centuries-long history as a masculine name. There are plenty of real feminine names out there; why continue to steal boys' names?

NO, NO, NO! Definitely a masculine name.If you think it's feminine sounding, then just don't use it. There's no need to call a girl this name.

UGH! Only if you'll name her brother Abigail :-/

AgreedNotice how it's always "I know it's a boys' name, but it sounds feminine!" and never "I know it's a girls' name, but it sounds masculine!"

Agree, and I'll throw in a very immature eye roll.

Noooooo!(m)I can see how it could sound feminine, it even shares the nn Izzy with names like Isabel. But it is really very firmly a boys name, I just can't imagine it on a girl esp given that where I live its in the top 50 for boys names.

I gotta go no with Isaiah. In my opinion any names that are widely associated with an male figure (an old one to boot) are not meant to be used on girls. The -ah ending also seems masculine to me (yes I know about Sarah and Hannah and Dinah etc.). I just can't see it.

no way , too common on boys, plus there are too many boys names on girls already.

Masculine all the way imo. Of course, I have never known otherwise.

ALSO...I think it would go good if it were Isaiah- Marie... and she were always called that. Isaiah alone is too masculine.

Isaiah-Marie is so pretty! But i'm Anna Marie so naming a child Isaiah-Marie is a bit much...

How about Butch-Marie? Is that too much?

Lol! Just a tad! :P

The middle name I chose for my child (if a girl) is masculine.
