Ethan or William?
two great classic names, right?
which is better in your opinionn and why?

I like both, but I would use William as it is a family name for me. I like the sound of it a bit more anyway.

Definitely William, nn Will...though Ethan isn't bad, it sounds trendier to me than the timeless William. And I adore Will as a nn! However, I like James ever so much better than Oliver. Ethan James is terribly handsome and sturdy, but William Oliver isn't bad. Ethan William would be nice too... or William James...

Definitely William. William seems more classy than Ethan and just has a nicer sound imo. Ethan is a name that doesn't appeal to me very much, but William is so handsome and masculine.

WilliamEthan is nice, but it's trendy and I don't think it will age as well. I adore William and it's a classic, timeless name.

OohWilliam Oliver is delightful. Ethan James is handsome, but popular. If I had to choose I would go with William Oliver. They would make a lovely sibset.

WilliamBoth are great names. I slightly prefer Ethan, I find it somewhat refreshing. William is lovely, but I know a million of them(mostly family). Ethans soaring popularity could date a child, and ultimately the always classic William wins out.

Ethan. William has that stuffy, upper-class thing to it. I'm just not a big fan of it. Ethan is strong and masculine sounding and has a fresh vibe to it.

Definitely William, Ethan is nice too but it is overused these days and it doesn't sound so masculine imo.

William.Ethan is way too popular for me right now. William may be used just as much, I don't know, but since Ethan's popularity surge was so fast, it makes it seem trendy and overused.

WilliamEthan is nice but it has a soft and weak sound. It is also kind of trendy. William is a name that you cannot go wrong with IMO. It is strong, classic, has lots of history, and has plenty of nn potential that suit all different kinds of ages and personalities.

Ethan. It's one of my favorites, it's classic and sounds wonderful and I like the meaning too. William isn't bad, and I love nn Liam, but I still prefer Ethan.

William. Despite the fact that Ethan has a long and legitimate history, it's recent rise in popularity gives it a trendy vibe, at least in my opinion. Both are safe bets with William being the preferable option. I love the nickname Liam as well.
