[Opinions] Connor and Rainie
So.. what do you think? My grandmother just mentioned something I'd forgotten about. She has a former co-worker who named her Daughter Connor. I personally think it's odd.. WDYT?Also... I work in a preschool. One of the little girls is a proud big sister to Rainie. I'm assuming this is pronounced like "rainy." But I'm also afraid it may be a misspelling of Raine (aka: Rain) WDYT?Personally.. I like Raine, but "Rainy" may be going a bit far. Also, Names of the children in the class I taught today:
Frances (big sister to Nicole, they are about a year and a half apart)
Nicole
Drew *actually Andrew, but always called Drew*
Dylan
Bentlee
Jacob
Kelsey
Brandon
Zachary
And finally: a co-worker is planning on naming her son Levi. I don't know the middle name. WDYT?

Frances - old-fashioned in quite a cute way; I like the spelling Francis even for a girl though, it looks nicer
Nicole - going to be very dated; and a tired name
Drew - like this, it's more interesting than Andy
Dylan - cute for a girl; tired for a boy
Bentlee - too much of a car name
Jacob - nice but chronically overused
Kelsey - cute but possibly *too* cute; overused
Brandon - tired, overused
Zachary - nice but getting tired; Zachariah is better_____________________________________________________________________"There are few more distressing sights than that

Hiya,Connor - I agree, it's different, but it's not the worst, imo.Rainie might be her nn, maybe she's always called that. - and Rain is the correct spelling,
if that's what you were trying to say here "But I'm also afraid it may be a misspelling of Raine (aka:
Rain)
"Frances - I don't really like it
Nicole - popular, but I like it
Drew / Andrew - love both
Dylan - like
Bentlee - cute, but I can't see this as a real name
Jacob - like
Kelsey - like
Brandon - popular, but nice
Zachary - prefer the sp. Zachery, which I loveLevi is a great name, imo.

No.. Rainie is her actual name. It's not a nickname.

Basically I don't like names associated with weather, like Sunny or Windy - such names mean nothing to me, just adjectives. I can only accept the spelling Raine, but the pron. is still like "rain".
Of the names of the children in the class, I only like Frances and Dylan.

I like Connor, but only for a boy. I'd prefer Raine or Raina with Rainie as a nickname, because it's nauseatingly immature sounding as a formal name (but I don't care for Raine or Raina, either).I like:
Nicole
Andrew
Jacob
Brandon
Zachary

Connor - I am not surprised to see this on a girl, but I greatly dislike boys' names on girls so I don't care for it. I did used to know a little girl whose mn was Conner (fn Cassidy).Rainie - My sister had a cat named Rainie (and my cat is Stormy, lol), but it was a nn for Lorraine. :b I agree, that it's going a bit too far. Bentlee - That's awful! The rest are ok, I esp. like Frances.

Someone naming their daughter Connor isn't odd at all. It's much better than Tootsie Roll.Rainie is just terrible, but I don't like Rain or Raine. Did they name her on a rainy day? (Terrible, I know)Frances - Hate it. It's an old woman's name. It doesn't sound good with Nicole.
Nicole - Trashy. I know too many people called this.
Andrew 'Drew' - I love Drew, but would name my son this, but not Andrew. People would call him Andy!
Dylan - Boy or girl? I like this on a girl better, but I still don't really like it.
Brentlee - Boy or girl? Tryndyee and trashy.
Jacob - Hate it. It's too common.
Kelsey - Atleast it's not spelt Kelyseeie. It's still really tryndyee.
Brandon - Hate it.
Zachary - Hate it.Levi is OK. It's neutral on my list.

Dylan - boy
Bentlee - girlAs far as Drew goes, actually.. none of his teachers actually knew his first name was Andrew until we saw him in his T-ball uniform one afternoon. He strictly goes by Drew, even on the preschool role call list.
