[Opinions] Opinions on Stella
Hi all! For the longest time I have had Aurelia picked out for my first daughter. However, as of recent, Stella has crept up and has surpassed Aurelia. Who knows how long it will stay that way...What are your honest opinions of Stella? Too old-ladyish? Would it suit a child? Would it age well? Also, what MN would go well with it?Thanks!

I think Stella is such a gorgeous, feminine name, and I definitely prefer it over Aurelia. Aurelia, for me, seems better-suited as a middle name, while Stella makes a lovely first name. I don't at all find it to be old-ladyish. I think it'd suit a little girl and will age well, too. Some middle name suggestions:Stella Josephine - used to be one of my top favorite combos
Stella Josette
Stella Rose
Stella Haven
Stella Jasmine
Stella Grace
Stella Hope
Stella Marie
Stella Martine
Stella Margaret
Stella Christine
Stella Kathryn
Stella Caroline
Stella Faith
Stella Jaclyn
Stella Madelyn

Stella is a beautiful name. It's a classic and has the old and rustic feeling, but it's still very beatuiful. I perfer it over Aurelia. How about Stella Cosette?

Stella isn't really my style, but it could work for any age.I really like Stella Aurelie, which uses both your picks

Aurelia is much prettier to me. Stella reminds me of an old lady that smokes because of Estelle from Friends. t's just not pretty in my opinion.

I absolutely LOVE the name Stella! I work at a daycare, and I have 12 toddlers in my room. One of them is named Stella Violet, but we sometimes call her Stella Mae (I'm not sure why though). She is one of the funniest and sweetest little girls I have ever met, and I will always think of Stella-Bina (or Beaner, or Stella-Bean...she has a lot of nicknames!!!) when I hear the name.I like:
Stella Violet
Stella Margot
Stella Phoebe
Stella Aurelie
Stella Zoe
Stella Marin
Stella Wynne

I adore it. It has been on my short list for ages now. I think it will be cute on a child but obviously age well. It's very classy but still spunky.

Cue Marlon Brando: 'STEEEEEEEEELLAAAAAAAA'!Awesome. Loved A Streetcar Named Desire and I love the name Stella. If someone tells you it's old lady-ish, take it as a compliment because your little girl will one day be an old lady.Stella sounds like a name for a smart, studious woman with a wicked sense of humour. I give it a thumbs up.Stella Aurelia would sound wonderful with the assonance going on.As for MNs:Stella Violet

I really like the name Stella; I think it'll suit any age. I think it's much better than Aurelia, which I think is just so harsh sounding and difficult to pronounce.
