[Opinions] Octavia, Jaswinder, Verena, and Camilla?
Four names that have been on my mind lately. Just wondering what you guys thought of them. Would you be refreshed to meet them?
Are they usable?

I live in quite a large Indian community who mirgrated to my part of London in the 60s. When I was younger I really wanted an Indian name like my friends, and I was Jaswinder :) it didn't stick though.Octavia is pretty, as is Verena and Camilla.

Like them all except Jaswinder. Is Jaswinder Indian by any chance? In this case at least it's legit, but seems cumbersome anyway.

Octavia- Love it! Reminds me of music with the "octave" bit in there.
Jaswinder- Instantly made me think of East India, so if I met a little caucasion girl with it, I might think it was a little different. That doesn't make it unusable by any means, though. It really is pretty.
Verena- Don't care for it much.
Camilla- nms. Has always reminded me of camels, but it's perfectly fine for someone else's child.

I *love* Octavia and Camilla. They're beautiful names and I would definitely find them refreshing on a girl/woman.I also really like Verena. And I know one - my mother has a cousin with this name.I think the above are definitely usable.Jaswinder has a very cool meaning, but I don't like the name itself.

Octavia - I really like this name. It has a very interesting a historic feel to it and I love that. Jaswinder - I would be intrigued by this name seeing as though I have never heard of it. Can't say that I particularly like it though.Verena - This is such a pretty name and another that I haven't heard of. It will be added to my personal name list. Very nice. Camilla - This isn't so interesting nor refreshing to me.

Ooh, I love Octavia! It would be so refreshing to meet an Octavia rather than all the little Olivias running around! I would seriously consider using it myself.
I quite like Verena, though I would probably never use it as a first name.
I'm not so keen on Camilla. The first thing that always comes to mind when I hear it is Prince Charles' wife, but it would be quite pretty on a little girl.
Jaswinder is a little too odd (even for me!). I think it is completely usable on a child from that ethnicity though.

I love Octavia. Absolutely love it.Jaswinder strikes me as being make up, though I know it isn't. I don't think many people would realize it is a legit name.Verena is okay, not my style however. I think this would make a better middle name, rather than a first name.Camilla is the least favorite of mine. It just strikes me as snobby, but that's due to bad associations.I think they're usable, but perhaps Jaswinder would serve best in the middle name position? Even Verena would be an okay first name, I suppose. To meet people named this would be refreshing, especially here, since I'm sure we have the highest Brittany/other variations population in the tri-state area. :P

The only one I really like it Camilla, which I adore! I would be so glad if I saw a Camilla.

Octavia reminds me of octopus, so I don't see the attraction. I see it a lot on these boards though, so I wonder if it's going to become popular. Jaswinder looks totally madeup. I'd be sad if I saw it. Looks very masculine too. Verena is stunning! I'd love to see it! Camilla is nice, I'm neutral. NMS

the attraction for Octavia, for me, is this:OCTAVIALook how clean it is! Look how every letter folds perfectly down the middle, except for C which folds the other way. Look how symmetrical it is down the A! Historically, Octavia Minor was a pretty great gal, which is nice to have behind it.
