I noticed a lot of nn's used by Brits tend to end in the sound 'ee' like Georgie, Tilly, Mortie, etc. Does this tend to be the case?

The popularity list in England is full of them!

Seems to me this is also common in the New England area
I have relatives in Pennsylvania, New York and Boston. They all do this -ee thing. Cliffy, Kurty, Jackie, etc - all grown men. Bostonians refer to state troopers as "staties." It sounds so childish to me!
