[Opinions] Monmik and Mikmon made me giggle! (m)
in reply to a message by Caprice
Some of those are really awful!
I like
Elliot
John
Edith (that spelling
Jazz (as a nn)
Vincent
Aaron
Cornelia
Geronimo
Fredrik
Aurora
Spike (on a dog. While I've seen it elsewhere, it seems very unusual for Sweden!)
Linnea (but Sexy? No, seriously.)
Vanessa
Angel
Christina
Julia (but I'm biased on that one (: )
How can they allow Mikmon and Monmik? those poor kids!
Some of the names seem fine for some regions of the planet, but Sweden just isn't one of them. And then others, like Oden, Edit, Vilhelm, Aaron, Fredrik, Tilda and Christina didn't seem too unusual for the area (but then that's just stereotypes from movies, books and vacations).

About frequency
Edit used to be popular about 80 years ago and is starting to get popular again, but spelled Edith. Oden is very rare. Vilhelm, Fredrik and Christina (often spelled Kristina) are common names and Tilda is trendy right now. Aron is mostly used in the north of Sweden; the spelling Aaron is rare.

I see... Thanks for the info!
