[Opinions] Esperanza, Omar, and Kahlil
WDYT? I'd most likely use it as a middle name, but I love it. I'm thinking of Daphne Esperanza, but would love other combo ideas. Also: I love the name Omar. Would it be strange on a white American child? The same question for Kahlil - I"d use in honor of Kahlil Gibran. TIA.

I really like Daphne Esperanza. I like Omar and I don't think it would be too strange to use. I prefer Khalil over Kahlil, since he was Gibran Khalil Gibran.

I googled, and found both.I'll take your word for it, though.

Daphne Esperanza is gorgeous. I'm not overly crazy about Omar or Kahlil. It might seem a bit 'odd' to see either name on a 'white American child' but it could certainly, definitely be worse. I know a little blond-haired, blue-eyed Kahlil, btw. His father is Egyptian, I believe, but he looks like his mother. :b

I don't love Esperanza, but it's fine as a middle name. Daphne Esperanza is beautiful!Kahlil looks wrong--did you mean Khalil? I don't mind it, but it would be very strange on a Caucasian child. Omar would be less so, but still strange.

Nope, google for Kahlil Gibran.

How funny - when I was trying to come up with Daphne combos, Daphne Esmeralda was one of my top choices. So Daphne Esperanza gets my vote. :DI know two Omar's. Both of them are Hispanic, but one doesn't look it at all and his last name doesn't even sound Spanish. No one really thinks much of it.

I like Esperanza! I agree it would be better as a middle name though. I don't think Omar and Kahlil would be strange on a white American child, and you wouldn't have to worry about there being more than one in a class!
