[Opinions] Help with twin names!
We're expecting boy/girl twins in October. Somehow I thought that finding out the genders would make naming them easier, but it hasn't.
For the girl we are thinking either Matilda Iris or Linnea Eleanor. Matilda Iris we just like, we'd probably call her Tilly or Tilda. Linnea Eleanor we like, but also like the meaning of (Linnea = twinflower, plus sounds like my mom's name, and Eleanor is my grandma's name).
We're having a harder time with the boy name. We'd like to use the middle name James after my husband's late grandfather (who was a twin and very proud of it). Some ideas we've had for the first name: Nathaniel (which my husband vetoed as being "too boring, too biblical"), Axel, Ewan, Phineas (Julia Roberts may have killed this one for me) and Peregrine ("Perry"). The one we keep coming back to is Peregrine, but I wonder if it's too much to saddle a person with?
Thoughts? Can you suggest some other boy names that seem like they would fit with our style of names? Our last name is a single syllable and starts with "R".
Thanks!

I like Matilda Iris and Ewan James the best. I think Tilly and Ewan is really cute. Here are some other boy names that I think could work:
Tobiah James "Toby"
Bennett James "Ben"
Reuben James - Maybe nn "Ben"
Oliver James "Ollie"
Eric James
Samuel James "Sam"
Daniel James "Dan" or "Danny"
Charlie James
Gideon James
Gabriel James "Gabe"
Leo James
Maxwell James "Max"

Both of your girl combos are lovely, but in this case I'm liking Matilda Iris. I love the nickname Tilly! Linnea Eleanor is great as well, but I think the thing that bothers me about it is that both names are composed of similar letters. Of course, since Eleanor is your grandmother's name, I suppose your combo is extra special. You could mix and match and do Matilda Eleanor? I think that would be gorgeous!
I must say I adore the name Nathaniel. I don't think it's overly bibilical. Like, bible stories might pop into my head as soon as I hear Noah or Moses, but it's not like that with this name. And I especially don't think it's boring! I think Nathaniel Ewan would be nice. Axel is nms, and I too don't like Phineas because of the Julia Roberts association. And I don't really like the 'Fin' sound. Peregrine would be just fine if you really like it, but it is a bit... odd and complex for my taste.
Nathaniel Mischa and Nathaniel Saul are my favorite Nathaniel combos, if you're interested. Here are some other suggestions:
Percival James nn Percy
Samuel James
Damian James
Asher James
Saul James
Henry James
Abram James
Silas James
Maxwell James
Morgan James
Do you like any of those?
