[Opinions] Re: Basil
1. WDYT of it in general?
I like it
2. How do you pronounce it?
I pronounce it BAZ-il, like the herb (I've never seen/heard it as BAY-zul, my dictionary has the pronunciation BAZ-il).
3. WDYT of it for a boy?
I'm starting to love it for a boy.
4. WDYT of it for a girl?
It's not a girls' name, IMO, when used as a name it's either in reference to either the Arabic name or the English name coming from Greek. Neither of them are female names. That aside, why would you name a girl a name that counts (amongst others) Basil Fawlty and a fox puppet (Basil Brush) and a cartoon mouse (Basil the Great Mouse Detective) as famous bearers (not to mention a whole host of MALE historical figures).
