Well, I wouldn't say it is unusable but it does remind me of caramel and Dulce de Leche.

It's one of those names that's great on paper, but a bit difficult in real life, esp. as "Dulcinea" is used in a mildly ironic way to indicate someone's sweetheart.

I don't think so--it has a lovely sound and can be shortened to some very nice nicknames. And it's wonderfully literary, of course, and the implication of being one's Dulcinea is a good one.Array
