Help[Opinions] Taran and Taron
Taran and Taron are two names I've seen recently.
Taran is the name of a female character (from Norway. But it's mentioned that she has an unusual name) in a book and Taron is just a name I've seen.
I'm pretty sure Taran is pronounced like tAH-ran (the first A like a British A in after)
What do you think? Which one do you like the best?
Personally I like Taran although I first thought it was more of a boy's name.

I like Taran better. Taron just looks strange.

I've heard Taran as a boys name, in the Chronicles of Prydain. I prefer Taran to Taron.

Taran - first (and really only) context I heard it in was Lloyd Alexander's children's fantasy series of books (Chronicles of Prydain) -- it was the name of the male protagonist. I believe it is supposed to be pronounced TAR-un (like barring), but as a kid, I used to say TAIR'n (like barren). I like Taran (TAR-un), for a male not a female.
Taron - I suspect it of being a variant of Taryn (TAIR-in, a girl name), or maybe Taran (boy).
I prefer the name Tarn to either (male). It's less ambiguous, and has a meaning that's known to me.

They look masculine and made-up/trendy to me. Like a mixture of Tarzan and "talon". :-/ Taron also looks like it could be Tah-Ron, which is even worse, imo. I am fairly familiar with Taryn, as a female name, which isn't really my style but it's not horrible.
