[Facts] alternate meaning
My daughter's name is Ciara. We got a print out of the meaning, which is black, but the woman said that the alternate meaning is "little star". I can find no record of this meaning anywhere. Do any of you know where I might be able to find this alternate meaning?

In Italian, the name "Chiara" (pronounced kee-AH-rah) means "bright", and can loosely be interpreted to mean "star". The term "chiaroscuro" in the art world is applied to the distribution of light and shade in a painting.
It's interesting to note that the Irish "Ciara" means exactly the opposite of the Italian "Chiara".
